📅 The deadline to participate in the challenge for the MICCAI conference 2023 has passed. However, the challenge remains open for new submissions and we will continue to maintain a live leaderboard. 🕚

The training data are available since May 1, 2023 on DataverseNL. We are now open to accepting submissions.

Challenge results were presented at MICCAI 2023, Vancouver, Canada.

Welcome to the Circle of Willis Intracranial Artery Classification and Quantification (CROWN) Challenge!
This challenge is organized in association with the MICCAI conference, which will be held in Vancouver from October 8 – 12, 2023.

Aim

The purpose of this challenge is to compare automatic methods for classification of the circle of Willis (CoW) configuration and quantification of the CoW major artery diameters and bifurcation angles.

Outline

To take part in the challenge, teams that are interested can register on this website. Once registered, they can download the training data, which comprises 300 time-of-flight magnetic resonance angiography (TOF-MRA) brain images. These images come with annotations of the CoW configuration variant, CoW artery diameters, and CoW bifurcation angles, which have been created by three observers.

Participants can train their methods on the available data and submit the resulting method for evaluation by the organizers. A brief description (1-2 pages) of the method should be included. The test data, which consists of another 300 TOF-MRA images, will not be released.

Collaboration with TopCow ’23

The CROWN challenge collaborates with the Topology-Aware Anatomical Segmentation of the Circle of Willis for CTA and MRA (TopCow ’23) Challenge. At the MICCAI conference 2023, a joint event will be organized in which the results for both challenges will be discussed, see Circle of Willis Quantification Benchmarking Workshop.
